Jaguar’s Claw©, Anaconda Squeeze©, and Rainforest Island Zoo© are some of the widely excitina destinations on Rainforest Island!PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.When registering for Day Camp, please be prepared to provide the following documentation, as required by Onondaga County Health Department guidelines: Immunization Record - Per Onondaga County Health guidelines, the immunization record must include a “print date” from 2026. If your child has a scheduled appointment between April 1 and June 29, you may submit last year’s records during registration and provide the updated documentation after the appointment. Most recent Physical Examination - Examination dates should be from between August 2025 - August 2026. If exam date is up before the start of Day Camp, we will need an updated one before June 29. Any additional detailed medical information if requested If your child does not have up-to-date vaccinations, parents or guardians are required to provide a written, signed statement as to why their child has not received their regular vaccinations. This letter needs to be submitted to complete your child's registration. If documents are emailed, they must be submitted in PDF format. emailed to recreation@townofonondaga.gov OR printed and mailed/dropped off to our office at: 4834 Velasko Rd. Syracuse, NY 13215. Documents sent in any other format will not be accepted. All required medical documentation must be received by June 29th. Due to health regulations, children will NOT be permitted to begin the Day Camp program until all required documentation has been submitted and approved.Staff are not authorized to apply sunscreen, insect repellent, or administer medication**.  If you would like your child to wear sunscreen or insect repellent, please answer "yes" when asked that question upon registering.  Your child should keep it in their personal bag and apply as needed.  Otherwise, sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before arriving at camp.  **INHALERS, EPI-PENS & MEDICATIONS**If your child has a prescription for an Epi-Pen and/or inhaler, we require documentation from their doctor as well as written parent consent.  If your child has either an Epi-Pen or inhaler prescribed to them, they are required to have it on site and on their person. These must stay on site at all times. Certified staff may "assist" in the use of emergency medication such as epinephrine pens or inhalers, but are not allowed to administer any other prescribed or over the counter medication. If your child needs to take medication daily/weekly/with lunch/etc.., they should be able to administer it by themselves or a parent/guardian may come and administer it as well. All medications must be in original containers and will be stored in a locked container on-site.Your Child will not be allowed to stay on site if the Site Supervisor does not have the appropriate documentation and medication.Reminder: A $10 fee is added 1 week before the program begins.
