2026 Summer Day Camps!

Summer Day Camps run from Monday – Friday, June 30 (Tuesday) – August 7, 2026 (No program July 3)
AGES:  5 - 14      TIME:  9:30 am – 3:00 pm            
Spend your summer days with us! Day Camps have a variety of fun daily activities for school-age children including games, arts & crafts, sports, special events and field trips. Registration includes ALL SIX WEEKS! 
 - Participant T-Shirts will be handed out on-site.
 - A 5 year old child can sign up ONLY if they have completed kindergarten. Drop off or email in a PDF a progress report for proof. (You will NOT be able to register your child until the office has the information, and then the office will put your child in your cart for you.)
 - Field trip fees and other extras are not included in registration.

**NEW** CHALLENGE ISLAND EXTENDED CAMP at Santaro Park
Available exclusively for Santaro and Rockwell Day Camp participants, Challenge Island Extended Camp is new this summer and offers extra STEAM-filled fun after the camp day ends. Families may register for individual weeks or all three weeks of this exciting program.
Please Note:
  • A minimum of 20 participants each week is required for the program to run.
  • A completed waiver form must be submitted prior to the start of the program. Children without a waiver on file will not be permitted to attend.
  • No make-up sessions will be offered if a Day Camp rain date occurs.
  • **We will not be providing transportation from Rockwell to Santaro.
Monday – Friday: 3:15 – 5:15 pm
Week 1: July 6 – 10: Monsters and Myths Island© - This monstrously marvelous island is filled with mythological beast, legendary creatures and things that go bump in the night. Dracula’s Blood Drive©, Hydra Head Launch©, Big Foot Treetop Track© and Monster Truck Arena© are just a few of the goosebump-worthy destinations on Monsters and Myths Island.
Week 2: July 13 – 17: Disaster Island© - Inspired by the bestselling “I Survived” book series, this action-packed island turns some of the most famous disasters in history into engineering adventures. Titanic Seas©, San Francisco Earthquake©, Grizzly Bear Campground© and Mount Vesuvius Eruption© are just a few of the thrilling destinations on Disaster Island.
Week 3: July 20 – 24: Rainforest Island© - This magical island, which ties into our bestselling book, Race Across Anaconda Swamp, takes STEAM Teams on an unforgettable journey through the animal-packed layers of the Amazon rainforest. Jaguar’s Claw©, Anaconda Squeeze©, and Rainforest Island Zoo© are some of the widely excitina destinations on Rainforest
Island!


PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.

When registering for Day Camp, please be prepared to provide the following documentation, as required by Onondaga County Health Department guidelines:
  • Immunization Record - Per Onondaga County Health guidelines, the immunization record must include a “print date” from 2026. If your child has a scheduled appointment between April 1 and June 29, you may submit last year’s records during registration and provide the updated documentation after the appointment.
  • Most recent Physical Examination - Examination dates should be from between August 2025 - August 2026. If exam date is up before the start of Day Camp, we will need an updated one before June 29.
  • Any additional detailed medical information if requested
  • If your child does not have up-to-date vaccinations, parents or guardians are required to provide a written, signed statement as to why their child has not received their regular vaccinations. This letter needs to be submitted to complete your child's registration.
If documents are emailed, they must be submitted in PDF format. emailed to recreation@townofonondaga.gov OR printed and mailed/dropped off to our office at: 4834 Velasko Rd. Syracuse, NY 13215. Documents sent in any other format will not be accepted. 
All required medical documentation must be received by June 29th. Due to health regulations, children will NOT be permitted to begin the Day Camp program until all required documentation has been submitted and approved.

Staff are not authorized to apply sunscreen, insect repellent, or administer medication**.  If you would like your child to wear sunscreen or insect repellent, please answer "yes" when asked that question upon registering Your child should keep it in their personal bag and apply as needed.  Otherwise, sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before arriving at camp. 

**INHALERS, EPI-PENS & MEDICATIONS**
If your child has a prescription for an Epi-Pen and/or inhaler, we require documentation from their doctor as well as written parent consent.  If your child has either an Epi-Pen or inhaler prescribed to them, they are required to have it on site and on their person. These must stay on site at all times.
Certified staff may "assist" in the use of emergency medication such as epinephrine pens or inhalers, but are not allowed to administer any other prescribed or over the counter medication.

If your child needs to take medication daily/weekly/with lunch/etc.., they should be able to administer it by themselves or a parent/guardian may come and administer it as well. All medications must be in original containers and will be stored in a locked container on-site.

Your Child will not be allowed to stay on site if the Site Supervisor does not have the appropriate documentation and medication.

Reminder: A $10 fee is added 1 week before the program begins.

  • Playgrounds run from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • $160/participant for Town of Onondaga Residents
  • $260/participant for All others
  • Add $10 to fee after 6/19/2026
  • *No registrations after July 10th, 2026*

  • If you are registering your child who is 5 years old, you must show proof that they have attended kindergarten:

Resident family discount
  • If registering more than 2 children in the same family/household, each child after the second registration will be reduced to $100/participant (3rd Child)
  • This discount does NOT apply to non-residents
  • This discount cannot be applied to individuals outside an immediate family/household
